FTR stands for Foreign Trade Regulations. These are
U.S. rules that govern export.
What is the FTSR (FTR) entry in ShipRush for?
An FTR (FTSR) Exception code should be used when an SED is not required. The purpose of the FTR code is to clarify why an SED is not required. The codes refer to specific sections in the FTSR (Foreign Trade Statistics Regulations).

NOTE: A Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR) exemption DOES NOT apply to: (1) shipments requiring an export license or permit; (2) shipments of rough diamonds; (3) commodities subject to ITAR (including ITAR exemptions); or (4) shipments to proscribed countries listed in Country Group E (EAR 15 CFR 740). As of 7-25-08 countries are Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria and FedEx does not service any of these countries from the U.S. An Electronic Export Information (EEI) filing is required, regardless of the value, under these circumstances. |
