Multi-User ShipRush

This page is technical in nature. The target audience is a PC or network technician or qualified PC power user.

To network ShipRush, all the ShipRush applications must be the same version/build. The best practice is to download the installer once, save it in a shared location and run the same installer on all the machines you wish to install ShipRush on.

Method 1 (via service)

Networking a new environment (no ShipRush installed)

Installing on the Server

  1. During the installation, ShipRush will ask if this is a muli-user installation or a single user installation. Select multi-user installation.
  2. On the next screen, select that this will be the ShipRush server.
  3. This installs the ShipRush service on this PC and enables ShipRush on other computers to connect using the PC name as opposed to a direct network share.

NOTE: For workstations to be able to connect using the ShipRush service, open port 3841 to network traffic, as the Windows Firewall will block this by default. The Windows Firewall is configured in the network settings area of Windows. (If using a third party firewall, please consult the firewall software documentation.)

Workstation

  1. During the installation, ShipRush will ask if this is a muli-user installation or a single user installation. Select multi-user installation.
  2. On the next screen, select this is a ShipRush workstation.
  3. Finally, select the PC name of the PC that the ShipRush service is installed on.
